Are We a Match?
A lot of work goes into being a successful matchmaker – almost as much as goes into being a successful business person. It’s certainly not for everyone! However, you don’t need experience as either to be a successful Ignite franchisee.
Our training and mentorship can teach you everything you need to know to make it work for you.
There is no one set profile for who makes a great candidate for our franchise. Our matchmakers come from all walks of life, and all kinds of backgrounds, and we greatly welcome this as a well-rounded team is a big part of why we are so successful.
We have however, found that there are certain skills and attitudes which are absolutely essential in this industry:
Strong transferable skills
Being a matchmaker requires a whole range of skills. Experience in a relevant career is essential, but you might be surprised at just how many backgrounds this includes. Many of our most successful franchisees come from backgrounds in recruitment, headhunting, HR & business leadership roles.
Great listening & communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills are absolutely essential. A great deal of your work will involve communicating with clients and matches, and creating an atmosphere of trust that you have their best interests at heart. You should be someone who enjoys networking and getting to know people in a variety of settings.
Empathetic & insightful
You should be someone who is keen to understand others, and put yourself in their place, while also demonstrating compassion and making them feel safe. We can help train you in ways to encourage people to open up to you, but that basic intuition and interest in others needs to come from you.
Professional & ethical
Unlike many dating services, we adhere to a very strict moral and ethical code of conduct here at Ignite. While we will guide you through accreditation, we need you to be totally committed to upholding the same standards that we do. For example, it should go without saying that dating your clients, or anyone else on our database, is out of the question!
Hard-working & driven
While we can give you a fantastic business model and all the support and training you need to make it as a new business owner, success is never 100% guaranteed. At the end of the day, it still all comes down to you and how much work you are willing to put in. You need to be someone who is organised, ambitious and dedicated enough to make the most of this opportunity.
A genuine desire to help others
This is so much more than just a business. We help people during a very important journey in their lives, one which will lead to a great deal of joy and happiness. You need to be 100% behind this mission.
